Are you someone who believes in people before they believe in themselves? As a Mentor with The BUSY Group, you’ll guide customers through their employment journey — helping them build confidence, overcome barriers and step into sustainable work or education.

Based at our Kirwan office, this full‑time role (fixed term until June 2027, with potential extension) is your chance to make a genuine difference every single day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Pre‑employment coaching — build work‑readiness through strengths‑based mentoring, practical guidance and personalised support.
  • Barrier identification — conduct assessments, uncover challenges and create clear pathways forward.
  • Action planning — develop detailed, achievable plans that support customers’ employment and lifestyle goals.
  • Job search support — assist with resumes, interview coaching, budgeting and confidence‑building activities.
  • Community referrals — connect customers with local organisations to help them overcome personal or situational barriers.
  • Vacancy matching — partner with our Recruitment team to link job‑ready participants with real opportunities.
  • Ongoing mentoring — maintain regular contact, celebrate wins and help customers stay on track.
  • Workshop delivery — lead engaging, self‑guided sessions that build skills, motivation and community awareness.
  • Accurate documentation — record actions and maintain schedules with clear, compliant evidence.

  • Demonstrated experience in creating development plans and following up on the progress
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to adapt style to suit the audience
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card and National Police Check with no outcomes
  • Candidates with relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience within the Coaching and Mentoring or a similar type of sector are highly desirable
