The BUSY School

About The BUSY Schools

The BUSY School Ltd was founded in 2019 as an independent Senior Special Assistance School that provides individualised education and holistic support for young people. The BUSY School exists to change the lives of young people who have disengaged from mainstream education. Through smaller class sizes, individualised learning plans, wrap‑around wellbeing support and real pathways into training, work or further study, we help students re‑engage, rebuild confidence and achieve their goals.

Job Description

About the Role

As we work to expand across Southeastern Australia, we are seeking an Executive Principal to lead the establishment, operational success and academic excellence of four new campuses. This is a rare opportunity to shape a multi‑campus model from the ground up—driving consistency, innovation and impact across jurisdictions. Subject to regulatory approval, regular travel will be required across NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and SA as you work closely with campus teams, leadership groups and community partners.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager of BUSY Education, the Executive Principal will be a key driver of growth, culture and performance across new BUSY School campuses. You will:

  • Lead strategic implementation — translate the schools’ strategic plans into operational excellence across multiple sites.
  • Build high‑performing campus teams — mentor Principals, set KPIs, monitor performance and ensure accountability.
  • Drive consistency and innovation — embed core BUSY School practices while adapting to local needs and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Oversee new school establishment — support capital works, operational readiness, staffing, systems and community engagement.
  • Strengthen culture and wellbeing — champion the wellbeing model and ensure wrap‑around support for students and staff.
  • Ensure compliance and accreditation — partner with Compliance and Audit teams to meet state and federal obligations.
  • Enhance teaching and learning quality — support curriculum development, pedagogy, assessment and professional development.
  • Scaffold the implementation of responsive and innovative VET and Industry processes that support students to prepare for, and successfully execute  the transition from school to employment.
  • Manage budgets and resources — guide financial planning, resourcing and government funding utilisation.
  • Represent The BUSY School — engage with stakeholders, industry partners, referral agencies and the broader community.

As the network grows, the role will gradually transition to oversight of fewer campuses within a single jurisdiction. This role is able to be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra.
