Job Description
The role of the Self-Employment Assistance Small Business Coordinators is to support individuals in successfully starting and running a small business by offering a range of services that support participants to develop a business idea, draft a viable business plan, and run their business. You will receive tools of the trade for this role including a laptop and mobile.
So, what does an everyday look like?
Facilitating tailored workshops to individuals interested in Self Employment Assistance.
A strong local network to promote Self Employment Assistance Program and benefits of Self Employment to all stakeholders.
Supporting individuals to explore self-employment options through both workshops and individual meetings to develop a viable business plan.
Providing mentoring to individuals who have progressed in starting their business.
This role is full time, fixed term until 30 June 2027 based in Cairns.

Desired Skills and Experience
About you...
Excellent understanding and knowledge of all aspects of running a small business.
Capable of completing financial spreadsheets, including cash flow (personal and business), sales forecasts, assets, liabilities and depreciation, marketing action plan, profit and loss and breakeven analysis.
Proven track record of achieving performance targets and time management skills to meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills – ability to build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, gain their confidence and build a sense of mutual understanding of needs and objectives.
Proven ability to work within a contractually compliant environment
Open drivers licence
Ability to obtain a Blue Card and National Police Check
