The BUSY School Auckland Campus is part of The BUSY Schools network — a purpose‑driven, future‑focused, and rapidly growing group of schools supporting young people who need a different pathway to succeed. We specialise in personalised learning, vocational education and wrap‑around wellbeing support for Year 11–13 students.

If you love connecting with people, building partnerships and creating opportunities that change lives, this is your moment.
Job Description
Why this role matters
As an EPO, you are the bridge between school and the real world. You will help students access meaningful industry experiences, vocational learning and employment pathways that align with their goals. You will work closely with teachers, employers, training providers and our BUSY Schools network to ensure every student has a clear, supported pathway beyond school.
This is not a desk‑bound role-it is dynamic, relational, and deeply rewarding.
What you will be doing
Coordinating industry engagement, work experience and vocational learning opportunities for students.
Supporting students to explore career options, build employability skills and transition into apprenticeships, traineeships, VET programmes or employment.
Building strong partnerships with employers, industry groups and training providers.
Working with teachers to embed industry knowledge and work‑readiness skills into learning programmes.
Supporting Distance Education students to access industry experiences and VET pathways.
Contributing to large‑scale events such as career expos, employer showcases and industry immersion activities.
Ensuring accurate data collection and reporting on student engagement, VET participation and destination outcomes.
Promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement across the Auckland campus and wider BUSY Schools network.

What you will bring
Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
Confidence engaging with employers, industry partners and young people.
Understanding of vocational education, industry pathways or workforce development (or a willingness to learn).
Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience in education, youth work, employment services, business or industry engagement is an advantage.
A commitment to The BUSY School’s purpose: making skills, education and employment accessible to every young person.
Who you are
You thrive in a fast‑paced, people‑centred environment. You are proactive, solutions‑focused and passionate about helping young people see their own potential. You enjoy connecting with industry, creating opportunities and being part of a team that celebrates growth, learning and impact.
You embody BUSYology - our culture of collaboration, innovation and purposeful BUSYness.
Why join The BUSY School?
A values‑driven organisation making a real difference.
A vibrant, supportive team culture.
Opportunities for professional growth and development.
The chance to shape the future of vocational education in Aotearoa.
