About The BUSY School…

The BUSY School is part of The BUSY Group, a not-for-profit organisation presenting over 47 years as a community partner providing employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, Inclusive Employment Support, and allied health services.

The BUSY School (TBS) is an independent Queensland Special Assistance School offering alternative education for students in Years 11 and 12 who have disengaged from mainstream education. The BUSY School Online (TBSO) is a platform offered by TBS that provides an alternative, flexible, high-support online education pathway for young people in Years 11 and 12 who have disengaged from mainstream schooling. Students re-engage with education through a blended online model while working toward senior certification and employment pathways.

The BUSY School Online provides a supportive and safe learning environment for young people by providing them with an education program that includes vocational education and training (VET), work experience and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. Our team support the students to gain employability and transferability skills to increases their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration and employment outcomes.

Our teams’ focus is centred at re-engaging our students to learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and gain employment or further training outcomes upon student’s graduation from Year 12.

 

Job Description

About the position...

The Administration Officer contributes to the effective and efficient management of The BUSY School Online by providing administrative support to the Campus Principal and campus staff. School administration officers develop and maintain the school’s financial and administrative systems and procedures to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the school and act as the first contact point for parents/carers and visitors to the school.

This role is permanent full time working for The BUSY School Online, based at our Strathpine Campus.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you...

  • Proven ability to develop cooperative working relationships with broad range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure outcomes for students are achieved
  • You have knowledge and experience in working with youth in a vocational education pathway
  • Excellent communicator, a promoter who is influential with the ability to seek and secure opportunities
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card and National Police Check with no disclosable outcomes
