The BUSY School is part of The BUSY Group, a not-for-profit organisation presenting over 47 years as a community partner providing employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, Inclusive Employment Support, and allied health services.
The BUSY School is an independent Special Assistance School with 10 campuses across Queensland and New Zealand, providing an alternative program for Year 11, 12 and 13 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education. Our program has expanded to include The BUSY School Online (TBSO) offering flexible access to our program for all students across Queensland.
Each campus provides a supportive and safe learning environment for young people by providing them with an education program that includes vocational education and training (VET), work experience and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. Our team support the students to gain employability and transferability skills to increases their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration and employment outcomes.
Our teams’ focus is centred at re-engaging our students to learn and gain employment or further training outcomes upon student’s graduation from Year 13.

About the Role
The BUSY School Auckland is seeking a committed Education Youth Worker to support students who have disengaged from traditional schooling to reconnect with learning, develop confidence and build pathways into employment and further training.
Working alongside teachers, students, whānau and other staff members, you will play a key role in supporting the wellbeing and engagement of our rangatahi and will help create a safe and supportive environment where students can reconnect with learning and develop pathways into employment or further training.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting students to engage positively in school
Monitoring and supporting student attendance and wellbeing
Building strong relationships with students and whānau
Assisting teachers to create a safe and supportive learning environment
Supporting young people to develop confidence, resilience and life skills
