Job Description

A bit about the role…

Play a pivotal role in supporting Australian Defence Force personnel as they navigate one of the most important transitions of their lives — moving from military service into meaningful civilian pathways. As a Transition Support Officer, you’ll walk alongside eligible ADF Members from the moment they signal their intention to transition, right through to their full integration into civilian life. In this role, you will be working for The BUSY Group, situated in Joint Transition Authority Transition Centres, working alongside Australian Public Servants and Military Personnel as one team. Your work will be hands‑on, person‑centred, and deeply rewarding and involves:

  • Providing tailored transition planning that reflects each member’s goals, strengths, and circumstances
  • Guiding individuals through career exploration, training options, and upskilling opportunities
  • Connecting members with the right services across employment, education, health, and community sectors
  • Researching and identifying high‑quality support providers using local and national networks
  • Monitoring progress and ensuring every member feels supported, informed, and empowered throughout their journey

You’ll be part of a dedicated team making a genuine impact every day. This is a chance to use your coaching, advisory, or case‑management skills in a role with real purpose — helping ADF Members build confidence, clarity, and a strong foundation for their next chapter.

This Transition Support Coach position is Permanent Full Time and based in our Newcastle office.
